Federal Court Oversight Impacts The Bush Team

America should be thankful for its Judicial branch of government.

Although the Bush team tried to get its personal lawyer on the Supreme court, it was unsuccessful. America’s court system has not been thourghly politicized.

The Judicial branch was not “infiltrated” like the legislative branch of government was. The Legislative branch ( the old House of Representatives) said it was “STANDING SHOULDER TO SHOULDER” with the Executive branch during the time the Executive Branch was busy trampling America’s PRIVACY laws. That was the kind of oversight the old Congress provided for America’s electorate.

The Judicial Branch, apparently the only branch to effectively exercise OVERSIGHT of the Executive Branch,  is once again exercising that oversight. This is in vivid contrast to what the House of Representatives seems to be doing. The House seems to be cheerleading the Bush team’s causes. Perhaps the House is still in plantation mode.

In the Bush team’s WORLD POLICEMAN’S role, it has been able to start its own war and create its own covert and overt prisons. It has been able to ignore the Geneva convention’s admonition against torture. It has brought waterboarding into mainstream as a NO BRAINER. King Bush is beyond the reach of the world’s laws.

America’s House of Representatives has decided to remain MUM on impeachment of President Bush. Currently America’s House of Representatives is “nurturing” a double standard on impeachment of a president. If this  political behavior does go into America’s history, those responsible should be held accountable – by the electorate if nobody else.

Federal Courts are doing their jobs. To see how the Federal courts are doing their jobs read a part of the below “Capitol Hill Blue” article.

The Sun Is About to Shine At Guantanamo

A federal court has, once again, slapped down the Bush Administration over its military torture chamber at Guantanamo Bay Cuba.

In a landmark ruling Friday, a federal appeals court ordered the Bush Administration to turn over virtually all its information on detainees at the prison where thousands have been held in cognito and without the due process accorded prisoners under our justice system.

The decision is another stunning defeat of the Bush Administration’s policies of ignoring the basic rights of the Constitution and the rights of those accused of crimes.

The decision most certainly won’t stop Bush from trying to bypass basic human rights but it will mark another milestone in his seven-year journey to destroy the Constitution and and the basic beliefs in freedom that used to define America.
